About Us:
This movement comprises of ordinary patriotic activists, with a variety of expertise, who have been dedicated to the service of their communities at their own personal costs; running community based projects and programs to mainly uplift the lives of the poor and restore their dignity. Men and women, instead of always complaining about the dysfunctional government opted to collaborate with like minded people and supporting organisations to get the job done.
Through their personal experiences of inadequate service delivery and other governance issues they encountered, instead of confronting these as individuals they opted to express their political consciousness and activism as a collective in order to establish a movement that will represent their shared values, principles and solutions.
Therefore, the formalization of this process led to birth of the African People’s Movement – APEMO – on 15th April 2021. This movement strongly promotes active citizenry. That a liberal democracy can be utilized to bring out the best of South Africans through equal opportunities without of course overlooking the legacy of injustices and inequality of the past that continue to curtail the progressiveness of this country, a generational mission that was enacted by our founding fathers of the national liberation movement.
To bring together like minded citizens of the country so that they may strive for Freedom and Justice by the appreciation and protection of human rights and the Rule of Law through the practice of true democracy.
To provide a good system of education, with a multidisciplinary approach, at all levels (basic to higher education) which responds to the developmental needs of the country as well as the need for qualitative education that will raise a skilled citizenry that is employable, innovative and market competitive.
To promote a vibrant, free-market economy and encourage vigorous participation and empowerment of citizens in economic activities.
To promote industrialization in order to grow our domestic economic activities and inspire new innovative technologies that will position our country as the economic hub of Africa.
To give priority attention to the health needs of the nation in order to establish and maintain a decent, humane and world class efficient system of public health which is easily accessible to the broad masses of the people.
To protect the environment from degradation and repair the damage done to the environment by wasteful and improper exploitation of our land, forest, marine, and fresh water resources; fostering an appropriate response on climate related issues.
To develop and maintain close fraternal relations with all political parties in Southern Africa, and the rest of Africa, which share the liberal democratic ideals of the party, with the view to the establishment of regional and continental associations of likeminded democratic parties to promote and defend ideals of Democracy and the Rule of Law in Africa.
