IN PICTURES: APEMO Football tournaments in Harrismith & Bethlehem
On the 16th of July the African People’s Movement hosted football tournaments in Harrismith and Bethlehem. This was in line with the resolutions that were taken in Harrismith when the national leadership led by President VR Mlotshwa welcomed new members and core teams tasked with coordinating APEMO affairs in the Province of Freestate.
These tournaments were perceived as pivotal to instilling sporting activities that young people desperately needed in order to showcase their talents and most importantly, politically conscientizing them of their duty to become active citizens that advocate for social material change in their communities under the banner of APEMO.
What has been subsequently established after both tournaments is the need to sustain these “projects”, as identified by most participants. To turn these into more organized champion football leagues for both males and females, and possibly incorporate other sporting codes.
